Team Pyro driver Josh Price narrowly missed out on his debut victory in the Renault Clio Cup Championship which took place on the Silverstone National circuit for the penultimate round of the championship.

Silverstone hosted the eigth round of the 2016 Renault Clio Cup Championship, where the Championship begins to reach its conclusion. A short lap and power slipstream allows for great racing for the Clio drivers.

Price continued his great qualifiying form from Rockingham, by bagging himself the 3rd fastest time overall in Timed Qualifying, less than a tenth from pole position. His second fastest lap was the 4th quickest overall which gave him another strong row two start for the second race at Round 16.

The first race saw Price embroiled in an intense race for the podium and victory straight from the off! The front three of Bushell, Whorton-Eales and Price were in a race of three for the majority of the running - swapping places constantly throughout the 18 intense racing laps that saw Price hit the front with a brave move into Copse.

As the race concluded, Bushell managed to jump to the front and narrowly pip Whorton-Eales and Price to the line - with Price taking 3rd position alongside the Graduate Cup Victory in Round 15.

Round 16, going off the outside of the second row looked like it would be a repeat of the earlier race - as Price got the jump into 3rd place early on, shadowing Whorton-Eales and Bushell in the opening stages of the race. Disaster for Price occured on lap 7, as he was forced to pit with car damage after battling for the lead of the race caused a puncture - meaning he ws forced out of contention, finishing an eventual 17th overall.

Price was pipped to the Graduate Cup title by rival Max Coates, as bad luck in this round and previous ones have thwarted Price's challenge.

He will be determined to take back 2nd overall in the Graduate Cup, aswell as aiming for the top 5 overall in the championship at the final round at Brands Hatch.

The final round of the Renault Clio Cup Championship will take place in a fortnights time on the 1st-2nd October at the historic and ever dramatic Brands Hatch GP Circuit.
