Josh Price will run under the new A-Plan BMR Academy banner for the remainder of the 2017 BTCC Season. The announcement was made, alongside the reveal of a striking new livery that broke cover at Snetterton, as the BTCC returns after the summer break.

The change in livery and team entry was made to demonstrate the progression that BMR can make to a drivers racing career. Recently the BMR Academy was set up as a race-winning kart racing team in the UK, taking on young drivers to hone their skills and race craft in the most competitive X30 kart classes.

Alongside this, BMR have also invested in building the career's of various Clio Cup Racers - including Josh Price and Senna Proctor, which has helped see both drivers make the step up into the BTCC in 2017.

The A-Plan BMR Academy Car is there to display that only one team in the paddock is able to take a driver from karting, all the way to the peak of the British motorsport scene and to help them establish a name for themselves and develop a racing career from the grass roots up.

Price’s Subaru, sporting the new colours this weekend as he runs under the A-Plan Academy banner for the remainder of the season, and the off-track boost has seemingly been converted on-track too.

After languishing down in 26th during the opening session, the young rookie completed a stunning lap to take second in final practice – his best result in any BTCC session so far.

This pace converted into a strong showing in the first stages of qualifying as he ran in the top 10 until the final runs, where a mix of traffic and not hooking up the perfect lap as he claimed 18th on the grid for the opening race of the season - a bit out of position based on his earlier pace, but it should be a competitive debut for the A-Plan Academy Subaru.

Josh Price "At the start of the year this is what we set out to do, the idea of it is to show the progression of Warren's investment in karting and the Clio Cup. This shows how someone can go from British Kart Racing, all the way up to the top of UK Motor Racing.

It's a great thing for youngsters in the sport, as it shows you can go with one team and they can follow you all the way through your career - which no other team offers."

Follow how Josh gets on at Snetterton this week by watching all three BTCC races live on ITV4 from 10:45am and catch the new red chrome, white and black A-Plan Academy car in action around the technical Norfolk Circuit, as the BTCC returns from the summer break.
